Allawi adamant Jan elections will go ahead

LONDON/BAGHDAD, Sept 19 (Reuters) - Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi said on Sunday elections would be held as planned in January despite a surge in violence across the country. "We definitely are going to stick to the timetable of elections in January next year," Allawi told a news conference after talks in London with British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
