FBI's Mueller: Hezbollah Busted in Mexican Smuggling Operation

FBI's Mueller: Hezbollah Busted in Mexican Smuggling Operation

FBI Director Robert Mueller said this week that his agency busted a smuggling ring organized by the terrorist group Hezbollah that had operatives cross the Mexican border to carry out possible terrorist attacks inside the U.S.

"This was an occasion in which Hezbollah operatives were assisting others with some association with Hezbollah in coming to the United States,” Mueller told a House Appropriations subcommittee during a Tuesday hearing on the FBI's budget.

In a stunning revelation, Mueller admitted that Hezbollah had succeeded in smuggling some of its operatives across the border, telling the House committee: "That was an organization that we dismantled and identified those persons who had been smuggled in. And they have been addressed as well.”

Relax, don’t worry, assimilation is working. The illegal immigrants just want to be patriotic citizens like everyone else. Given our compassion and a certain amount of time, they will join us in the New America. This is what our friends in the Open Border Right—Jack Kemp, Grover Norquist, the Chamber of Commerce, David Brooks, Fred Barnes, the Bush administration—have been telling us for years and are insisting is the right way now that the issue of immigration reaches critical mass.

But unfortunately for them, one picture betrays a thousand lies.
The picture on Michelle Malkin’s blog yesterday tells it all. American high school students, the children of immigrants and, therefore, those who are supposed to represent our Brave New Future, turned an American flag upside down, put a Mexican flag triumphantly on top of it, and then ran that up the flagpole. Now it is time to have a national “conversation” (isn’t that the preferred term) about this photograph.

The picture and what it represents are not simply about “ethnic pride,” “dual loyalty,” or even allegiance to a foreign state—all of these things reprehensible enough—but rather an image that reveals a visceral distaste for American liberal democracy and a desire to cash out rather than buy into the American Dream

Mexican Radio Organizes Protests Then Takes A Tumble

Vandals topple 4 radio towers north of Phoenix

The Arizona Republic Mar. 29, 2006 10:20 AM

Vandals took a torch and toppled four 197-foot radio towers that are part of a seven-tower cluster in Black Canyon City, authorities said Wednesday. The damage has been preliminary estimated at "millions of dollars," said Susan Quayle, a spokeswoman for the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office.Knocked off the air was KMIA-AM (710), a Spanish station in Phoenix.

It broadcasts ESPN Deportes, a sports-talk format that was launched last month. advertisement Tom Duran, the station manager, said there was no immediate indication when the station will be back on the air It could take "several weeks," he said.

"It's disheartening to know that somebody would do damage like this to a federally licensed facility," Duran said. He said he's unable to say whether the damage may be linked to recent immigration unrest throughout the nation. He said the FBI will be asked to investigate.

The station is owned by Entravision Communications Corp., a Sacramento firm that operates a string of Spanish stations throughout California and the Southwest, including KLNZ-FM (103.5) in the Valley, also known as Radio Tri-Color.

Quayle, the sheriff's spokeswoman, said the vandalism occurred late Tuesday at the Krazy Horse Ranch Polo Club, which is west of Interstate 17 in the community 30 miles north of Phoenix, Quayle said.

Investigators have determined that somebody used a torch to cut the steel support rods to four of the towers, causing them to crash to the ground, she said. The ranch manager heard the towers crash, but there were no injures to people or horses at the ranch, Quayle said.

US man in Bush murder plot sentenced to 30 years

By Caroline Drees
ALEXANDRIA, Virginia (Reuters) -

A federal judge sentenced a U.S. citizen convicted of plotting to assassinate President George W. Bush and conspiring with al Qaeda to 30 years in prison on Wednesday.

In November, Abu Ali, now 25, was found guilty of all charges in a nine-count indictment, including conspiracy to assassinate Bush, conspiring to support al Qaeda and conspiracy to hijack aircraft. "The court is sentencing you to 360 months, which is 30 years in prison," said U.S. District Judge Gerald Bruce Lee. The sentence will be followed by 30 years of supervised release, Lee said.

Prosecutors had sought a life sentence for Abu Ali. However, the judge noted that no one in the United States was injured in these plots, and no weapons were ever found in Abu Ali's possession.

In arguing for life imprisonment, prosecuting attorney David Laufman said, "It is simply chilling to contemplate that this defendant might ever walk the streets of this country again ... Al Qaeda could not have found a more ideal operative to carry out terrorist attacks inside the United States."

"Protestors" Recieve Marching Orders From Hispanic Media

Spanish Media Organized Nationwide Mass Protests

Save It Email It Print It

(AP) LOS ANGELES The marching orders were clear: Carry American flags and pack the kids, pick up your trash and wear white for peace and for effect.

Many of the 500,000 people who crammed downtown Los Angeles on Saturday to protest legislation that would make criminals out of illegal immigrants learned where, when and even how to demonstrate from the Spanish-language media.

For English-speaking America, the mass protests in Los Angeles and other U.S. cities over the past few days have been surprising for their size and seeming spontaneity.

But they were organized, promoted or publicized for weeks by Spanish-language radio hosts and TV anchors as a demonstration of Hispanic pride and power.

In Milwaukee, where at least 10,000 people rallied last week, one radio station manager called some employers to ask that they not fire protesters for skipping work. In Chicago, a demonstration that drew 100,000 people received coverage on local television more than a week in advance.

"This was a much bigger story for the Latino media," said Felix Gutierrez, a professor at the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication. "If the mainstream media had been paying better attention, there would not have been the surprise about the turnout."

Hollywood actress sticks her nose in where it does not belong

STONE ADVOCATES ORAL SEX

Actress SHARON STONE is adamant teenagers should be prepared to engage in oral sex, if it saves from them the dangers of unprotected penetrative sex. The Basic Instinct spends much of her time away from Hollywood working as an activist raising AIDS awareness, and she always carries condoms with her to hand out in a bid to increase safe sex levels. She explains, "I was in the store the other day and I watched a young girl trying on clothes, showing her abdomen. "Her mother was trying to talk to her about not being inappropriately luring. I said, 'Gee that would look much nicer with a camisole under.' "Her mother walked away, and I said to the girl, 'I'd like to give you a two-minute conversation about sex.' "Young people talk to me about what to do if they're being pressed for sex? I tell them (what I believe): oral sex is a hundred times safer than vaginal or anal sex. "If you're in a situation where you cannot get out of sex, offer a blow job. I'm not embarrassed to tell them."

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Students rushed Dallas City Hall Tuesday in the second day of marches for the rights of illegal immigrants, leaving at least three injured; students also gathered at Kiest Park in Oak Cliff and Fort Worth City Hall.

The students flooded the most floors of Dallas City Hall, disrupting a council meeting, before police and security guards managed to usher them back out. Councilwoman Elba Garcia left a closed-door meeting to used a police-car public address system to ask students to return to school.

Hundreds of students were gathered outside Dallas City Hall with flags and signs. Several students were seen wading in the reflecting pond in front of City Hall.

ROP Showing The Peace And Tolerance Of mohamadism

On Monday, hundreds of clerics, students and others chanting "Death to Christians!" marched through the northern Afghan city of Mazar-e-Sharif to protest the court decision Sunday to dismiss the case. Several Muslim clerics threatened to incite Afghans to kill Rahman if he is freed, saying that he is clearly guilty of apostasy and deserves to die.

"Abdul Rahman must be killed. Islam demands it," said senior Cleric Faiez Mohammed, from the nearby northern city of Kunduz. "The Christian foreigners occupying Afghanistan are attacking our religion."

Rahman was arrested last month after police discovered him with a Bible during a custody dispute over his two daughters. He was put on trial last week for converting 16 years ago while he was a medical aid worker for an international Christian group helping Afghan refugees in Pakistan. He faced the death penalty under Afghanistan's Islamic laws.

Evangelical teens rally in S.F.

More than 25,000 evangelical Christian youth ("Battle Cry for a Generation") landed Friday in San Francisco for a two-day rally at AT&T Park against "the virtue terrorism" of popular culture.
------------------------------

The wingnut left are always calling others "fascist" while it is they themselves that practice fascism. Read what the city offical and the kook left protestors called the teens.

From the article

"..they were greeted by an official city condemnation and a clutch of protesters who said their event amounted to a "fascist mega-pep rally."

-----------------------------

From the article

"Battle Cry for a Generation" is led by a 44-year-old Concord native, Ron Luce, who wants "God's instruction book" to guide young people away from the corrupting influence of popular culture.

Luce, whose Teen Mania organization is based in Texas, kicked off a three-city "reverse rebellion" tour Friday night intended to counter a popular culture that he says glamorizes violence and sex.
----------------------------

God forbid that kids should be against violence and promiscuity.

That flys in the face of what the left wants from our youth. They want violent aggresive kids to fill their ranks, and the left sees those same kids as objects of sexual gratification to be indoctrinated into their so-called "alternative lifestyle" and to have someone tell the kids that these kinds of things are wrong angers the lefties to the core.

Consider what Assemblyman Mark Leno, D-San Francisco, had to say about the kids in the article. He told counterprotesters at City Hall on Friday that, "they're loud, they're obnoxious, they're disgusting, and they should get out of San Francisco."

---------------------------

Whats this, A liberal with an anti-Christian agenda? no it could never happen. I guess if the kids were violent and were having sex with each other he would have been all for it.

So who are the bad guys according to Luce? Read on

From the article

"The villains, Luce said, range from the promiscuity and "sexualization" of young people on MTV and the popular online meeting hub MySpace.com to a corporate culture that spends millions trying to woo the under-21 crowd."

--------------------------
Ok, hes against overt sexualization in advertising to the youth crowd. So why do the lefties hate them so much?
--------------------------

From the article

"At a pre-Battle Cry rally Friday afternoon on the steps of City Hall, Luce told his mostly teenage audience that "terrorists of a different kind" -- advertisers -- were targeting them and that they were "caught in the middle of the battle."

"Luce's approach has been praised by conservative leaders from the Rev. Jerry Falwell to Fox News commentator Sean Hannity"

"Those alliances weren't lost on the 50 protesters representing a rainbow of San Francisco's left -- from abortion-rights advocates to anti-war activists to atheists -- who staged Friday's counterprotest.

"There is a real intolerancy to homosexuality in a lot of these organizations," said Peter Cobb, an organizer with Not In Our Name.

Earlier this week, the Board of Supervisors passed a resolution condemning the "act of provocation" by what it termed an "anti-gay," "anti-choice" organization that aimed to "negatively influence the politics of America's most tolerant and progressive city."

---------------------------
25,000 kids havig a good time and 50 protestors make the news?

The protestors with their tired worn out chants and buzz phrases "anti-gay," "anti-choice" "intolerancy to homosexuality"
--------------------------
But this snip from the article must be the main reason they are so up in arms against the up and comming voters the lefties claim that Luce et al want to "negatively influence the politics of America's most tolerant and progressive city."

-------------------------
All I can say about that is that this guy wants to hold onto power, and he and his fifty protestors were anything but "tolerant" This wack job sees a threat to his supposed "power," and wont stand anyone or anything "getting in the way."

I hope the politics of San Fran do change, the left has screwed it up bad enough, no reason to let them continue.

Afghan court drops case against Christian

By DANIEL COONEY
Associated Press Writer

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) -- An Afghan court on Sunday dismissed a case against a man who converted from Islam to Christianity because of a lack of evidence and he will be released soon, officials said.

The announcement came as U.S.-backed President Hamid Karzai faced mounting foreign pressure to free Abdul Rahman, a move that risked angering Muslim clerics here who have called for him to be killed.

An official closely involved with the case told The Associated Press that it had been returned to the prosecutors for more investigation, but that in the meantime, Rahman would be released.

"The court dismissed today the case against Abdul Rahman for a lack of information and a lot of legal gaps in the case," the official said Sunday, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.

"The decision about his release will be taken possibly tomorrow," the official added. "They don't have to keep him in jail while the attorney general is looking into the case."

Abdul Wakil Omeri, a spokesman for the Supreme Court, confirmed that the case had been dismissed because of "problems with the prosecutors' evidence."

ROP: mohamadist Teaching About "Apostates"

This is what mohamadism teaches about those who no longer want to be apart of the freakish hell that mohammad created.

Image hosting by Photobucket

Sura 9:73,74 -

"Prophet, make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites and deal rigorously with them. Hell shall be their home: an evil fire. They swear by God that they said nothing. Yet they uttered the word of unbelief and renounced Islam after embracing it. They sought to do what they could not attain. Yet they had no reason to be spiteful except perhaps because God and His apostle had enriched them through His bounty. If they repent, it will indeed be better for them, but if they give no heed, God will sternly punish them, both in this world and in the world to come. They shall have none on this earth to protect or help them."

Sura 47:23-28 -

"If you renounced the faith, you would surely do evil in the land, and violate the ties of blood. Such are those on whom God has laid His curse, leaving them deaf and sightless.... Those who return to unbelief after God's guidance has been revealed to them are seduced by Satan and inspired by him....

Bukhari, volume 9, #17"
Narrated Abdullah:

Allah's Messenger said, "The blood of a Muslim who confesses that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that I am His Messenger, cannot be shed except in three cases: in Qisas (equality in punishment) for murder, a married person who commits illegal sexual intercourse and the one who reverts from Islam (Apostate) and leaves the Muslims."

Bukhari, volume 9, #37"
Narrated Abu Qilaba:

Once Umar bin Abdul Aziz sat on his throne in the courtyard of his house so that the people might gather before him....He replied "By Allah, Allah's messenger never killed anyone except in one of the following three situations: 1) A person who killed somebody unjustly, was killed (in Qisas,) 2) a married person who committed illegal sexual intercourse and, 3) a man who fought against Allah and His messenger, and deserted Islam and became an apostate....

Bukhari, volume 9, #57
Narrated Ikrima,

"Some atheists were brought to Ali and he burnt them. The news of this event, reached Ibn Abbas who said, "If I had been in his place, I would not have burnt them, as Allah's messenger forbade it, saying, "Do not punish anybody with Allah's punishment (fire)." I would have killed them according to the statement of Allah's Messenger, "Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him."

Bukhari, volume 9, #58
Narrated Abu Bruda, "

Abu Musa said.....Behold there was a fettered man beside Abu Musa. Muadh asked, "Who is this (man)?" Abu Musa said, "He was a Jew and became a Muslim and hen reverted back to Judaism." Then Abu Musa requested Muadh to sit down but Muadh said, "I will not sit down till he has been killed. This is the judgment of Allah and his messenger," and repeated it thrice. Then Abu Musa ordered that the man be killed, and he was killed. Abu Musa added, "Then we discussed the night prayers .....

Bukhari, volume 9, #64
Narrated Ali,

"Whenever I tell you a narration from Allah's messenger, by Allah, I would rather fall down from the sky, than ascribe a false statement to him, but if I tell you something between me and you, (not a Hadith), then it was indeed a trick (i.e., I may say things just to cheat my enemy). No doubt I heard Allah's messenger saying, ‘During the last days there will appear some young foolish people, who will say the best words, but their faith will not go beyond their throats (i.e. they will have no faith) and will go out from (leave) their religion as an arrow goes out of the game. So, wherever you find them, kill them, for whoever kills them shall have reward on the Day of Resurrection.’"

Bukhari, volume 9, #271
[This one is similar to #58]
Narrated Abu Musa:

A man embraced Islam and then reverted back to Judaism. Muadh Jabal came and saw the man with Abu Musa. Muadh asked, "What is wrong with this (man)?" Abu Musa replied, "He embraced Islam, and then reverted back to Judaism." Muadh said, "I will not sit down unless you kill him (as it is) the verdict of Allah and His messenger."

Bukhari, Chapter 26, from the Book of Mutual Consultation, page 339, following Hadith # 461"

The Statement of Allah... 42:32, 3:159, ...The prophet said, "If someone changes his religion, then kill them....."

Twenty militants, Pakistani soldier killed in clashes

Pakistani troops and helicopter gunships killed up to 20 militants near the Afghan border, officials said, hours after President Pervez Musharraf warned foreign rebels to leave the area or die.

The fighting erupted overnight after rebels killed a soldier at a security post in Datakhel village, near Miranshah, the main town in the restive North Waziristan tribal zone and the scene of fierce clashes earlier this month.

"Up to 20 militants were killed when security forces responded to the rocket and small arms attack on the checkpost, in which one solider was killed," top military spokesman Major General Shaukat Sultan told AFP.

"The militants while running away left behind a few weapons also."

U.S. Backs Afghan Man Who Converted to Christianity

Christian Convert in Afghanistan Could be Unfit to Stand Trial

WASHINGTON — Concerned about the fate of a Christian convert in Afghanistan on trial for his life, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice telephoned Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Thursday seeking a "favorable resolution" of the case.

State Department spokesman Sean McCormack reported that Rice underlined to Karzai the "fact that the United States stands forthrightly for principles of freedom of worship, freedom of expression, and that these are bedrock principles of democracy around the world, these are principles that are enshrined in the Afghan constitution and they're principles that are enshrined in the U.N. Universal Declaration on Human Rights," he said.

"We're looking for a favorable resolution at the earliest possible time," McCormack added.

Abdul Rahman, 41, a medical aid worker, converted from Islam to Christianity 16 years ago, a fact that came out publicly during a civil custody case between him and his wife in front of local authorities. The authorities charged him with rejecting Islam, a crime under the country's
Shar'ia-based law.

The penalty, if guilty, is death.

On Wednesday, President Bush said he was troubled by the possible decapitation.

"I'm troubled when I hear, deeply troubled when I hear, the fact that a person who converted away from Islam may be held to account. That's not the universal application of the values that I talked about.

I look forward to working with the government of that country to make sure that people are protected in their capacity to worship," Bush said.

Bush Troubled by Afghan Convert's Case

By JENNIFER LOVEN
Associated Press Writer

WHEELING, W.Va.

President Bush said Wednesday that he is 'deeply troubled' that an Afghan man is being tried for converting to Christianity.

Abdul Rahman, 41, faces a possible death penalty for converting from Islam to Christianity 16 years ago. He has been charged with rejecting Islam, a crime under this country's Islamic laws. Bush said in a speech that a young democracy is growing in Afghanistan, but he's concerned about the case.

'We expect them to honor the universal principle of freedom,' Bush said. 'I'm troubled when I hear, deeply troubled when I hear, the fact that a person who converted away from Islam may be held to account. That's not the universal application of the values that I talked about. I look forward to working with the government of that country to make sure that people are protected in their capacity to worship.'

Rahman's trial started last week, but a state prosecutor said Wednesday that he may be mentally unfit to stand trial. Moayuddin Baluch, a religious adviser to President Hamid Karzai, said Rahman would undergo a psychological examination and the case will be dropped if he's found mentally unfit. "

As events such as the Madrid and London bombings have abundantly proved, Europe has become one of the key battlegrounds of the global war on terror. Friday marked an important date in this struggle, as a court in Amsterdam issued a much-awaited verdict in the trial of the so-called "Hofstad group," the maxi terrorist cell that planned various attacks throughout the Netherlands between 2003 and 2005.

The court convicted nine of the 14 alleged terrorists, imposing sentences up to 15 years. A key member of the group, Mohammed Bouyeri, had previously been sentenced to life in a separate trial. Bouyeri reached worldwide notoriety in November 2004, when he ritualistically killed in broad daylight Theo van Gogh, the controversial Dutch filmmaker who had directed a movie highly critical of Islam's treatment of women.

The verdict represents a major victory against what Dutch intelligence agencies consider the most severe threat to the country's security, and the first successful use of new antiterrorism legislation

Denmark Moves Against "Radical" islamic Group

CHRISTIAN WIENBERG
Associated Press

Copenhagen — A spokesman for a radical Islamic group in Denmark has been charged with threatening the government for distributing a leaflet urging Muslims to “eliminate” rulers that prevent them from joining the Iraq insurgency, a Danish prosecutor said Monday.

The leaflets, from the Danish chapter of Hizb ut-Tahrir, called on Muslims to travel to Iraq to join the insurgents fighting coalition troops. They also urged Muslims to “eliminate your rulers if they stand in your way” – a phrase that prosecutors interpret as a direct threat to the Danish government.
Denmark has 530 troops stationed in southern Iraq.

“We have now finished looking at the material and decided there are grounds to start formal charges,” Deputy Regional Prosecutor Karen-Inger Bast told the Associated Press.

Afghan Man Prosecuted for Converting

Afghan Man Prosecuted for Converting
By Associated Press

KABUL, Afghanistan - An Afghan man who allegedly converted from Islam to Christianity is being prosecuted in a Kabul court and could be sentenced to death, a judge said Sunday. The defendant, Abdul Rahman, was arrested last month after his family went to the police and accused him of becoming a Christian, Judge Ansarullah Mawlavezada told Associated Press in an interview.

Such a conversion would violate the country's Islamic laws.Rahman, who is believed to be 41, was charged with rejecting Islam when his trial started last week, the judge said.During the hearing, the defendant allegedly confessed that he converted from Islam to Christianity 16 years ago when he was 25 and working as a medical aid worker for Afghan refugees in neighboring Pakistan, Mawlavezada said.Afghanistan's constitution is based on Shariah law, which states that any Muslim who rejects their religion should be sentenced to death.

"We are not against any particular religion in the world. But in Afghanistan, this sort of thing is against the law," the judge said.

"It is an attack on Islam. ... The prosecutor is asking for the death penalty."

The prosecutor, Abdul Wasi, said the case was the first of its kind in Afghanistan. He said that he had offered to drop the charges if Rahman changed his religion back to Islam, but the defendant refused.Mawlavezada said he would rule on the case within two months.Afghanistan is a deeply conservative society and 99 percent of its 28 million people are Muslim. The rest are mainly Hindus.

Franklin Graham reaffirms criticism of Islam

"The Rev. Franklin Graham, who outraged Muslims in 2001 when he said that Islam 'is a very evil and wicked religion,' told an interviewer for Wednesday's edition of ABC News 'Nightline' that he hasn't changed his mind about the faith.

Asked by ABC correspondent John Donvan whether Muslim groups had succeeded in altering his outlook about Islam, Graham said 'No.'

'Do they want to indoctrinate me? Yes.

I know about Islam. I don't need an education from Islam,' he said. 'If people think Islam is such a wonderful religion, just go to Saudi Arabia and make it your home. Just live there. If you think Islam is such a wonderful religion, I mean, go and live under the Taliban somewhere. I mean, you're free to do that.' "

He is charged with nine counts of attempted murder in the March 3rd attack.

"Allah gives permission in the Koran for the followers of Allah to attack those who have raged war against them, with the expectation of eternal paradise in case of martyrdom and/or living one's life in obedience of all of Allah's commandments found throughout the Koran's 114 chapters..."

Telling the truth can be dangerous.
By Scott Malensek

The 9/11 Commission report tells us in detail that the terrorist attacks on America on 9/11 were set in motion in December 1998. They report that interrogations of the plot's mastermind, Khalid Sheik Mohammed, demonstrate that the plot was set in motion in "late 98 early 99" at a meeting in Khandahar, Afghanistan. This also happens to be the time period that Iraq came under bombardment by the United States. The timing is no accident.

VIENNA, Austria (AP) -- Iran threatened the United States with "harm and pain" Wednesday for its role in hauling Tehran before the U.N. Security Council over its nuclear program.

But the United States and its European allies said Iran's nuclear intransigence left the world no choice but to ask for Security Council action. The council could impose economic and political sanctions on Iran.

The statements were delivered to the 35-member board of the International Atomic Energy Agency, which is meeting to focus on Tehran's refusal to freeze uranium enrichment.

The meeting is in effect the last step before the Security Council begins considering Iran's nuclear activities and international fears they could be misused to make weapons. It began with both Iran and nations which oppose its enrichment plans sticking to their positions, reflecting the deadlock that prompted the IAEA board to seek Security Council intervention.

"The United States has the power to cause harm and pain," said a statement delivered by the Iranian delegation. "But the United States is also susceptible to harm and pain. So if that is the path that the U.S. wishes to choose, let the ball roll."

WRAL.com - News - Students To Protest UNC's Reluctance To Label Pit Incident Terrorism:

"The College Republicans, Americans for an Informed Democracy and the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies are sponsoring the event, scheduled for 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday in 'The Pit,' a central area of the UNC-Chapel Hill campus. The event is open to the public and free of charge.

Police said Mohammad Taheri-azar, a 2005 UNC-Chapel Hill graduate, admits he acted to 'avenge the death of Muslims around the world.' UNC police and local authorities, however, say they have not taken a stance on that interpretation, but are simply repeating what the suspect has told them.

UNC-Chapel Hill student leaders said that Monday's protest is aimed at the reluctance of the university to label Friday's incident as an act of terrorism.

'This is innocent people being attacked by an SUV, driven by a man who was doing it for retaliation for treatment of Muslims around the world,' said Jillian Bandes, with the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies. 'To me, that spells terrorism.'

Taheri-azar, who is currently in Raleigh's Central Prison under a $5.5 million bond, is charged with nine counts of attempted first-degree murder and nine counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill.
Because of what Taheri-azar admitted to local authorities, the FBI is also participating in the investigation. FBI spokesman Ken Lucas said Sunday, however, that a federal investigation is still ongoing."

FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING: BOXING, COURAGE & PHILOSOPHY

FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING: BOXING, COURAGE & PHILOSOPHY

The capacity to tolerate fear is essential to leading a moral life, but it’s hard to learn how to keep your moral compass under pressure when you’re cosseted from every fear. Boxing gives people practice in being afraid.
By Gordon Marino

"Know thyself" was the Socratic dictum, but Tyler Durden, the protagonist in the movie Fight Club, asks, "How much can you know about yourself if you've never been in a fight?" Although trainers of the bruising art wince at the notion that boxing equals fighting, there can be no doubt that boxing throws you up against yourself in revealing ways. Take a left hook to the body or a trip to the canvas, and you soon find out whether you are the kind of person who will ever get up.
